As moms, we get stuck in a rut quite often. How is it that raising children can seem so chaotic yet so monotonous? Every day is filled with more of the same – wipe some bottoms, wash some hands, bathe some wiggly bodies.
We all envisioned ourselves being fun moms instead of zombie moms, and here are a few places to start!
Play what they want to play
I didn’t say that being a fun mom had to be complicated. It doesn’t have to mean elaborate crafts, expensive activities, or leaving the house.
Being a fun mom means enjoying time with your child. And you and your child are both more likely to enjoy that time together if your kiddo is calling the shots.
So what if they want to play cars with you for the 19th day in a row… if you are laughing, interacting, and being present with your child, you are being a fun mom.
And happily playing cars is much better than being grouchy because your child hated the elaborate science project that you set up for them.
Give them some independence
Make your home kid friendly and then give your child the freedom to have some independence.
Let them wash their hands with the foaming hand soap. Let them dump in their own kids bubble bath. Let them scrub with their favorite kids body wash. And the next time they ask if they can wipe themselves, say “Absolutely” and hand them some flushable wipes.
Children can begin learning how to care for themselves at a very young age, and Kandoo loves being able to help with that! Give your children the opportunity to make a mess, and then give them the opportunity to clean it up for themselves as well.
Share the load
You will not be a fun mom if you are always feeling run down. Hand the Kandoo products to your partner and let them take over for awhile. Let them do the dirty work, take a bubble bath (yup, you can use your kids’ bubble bath), and then come back refreshed.
When you come back to your family, you can have the energy to be the fun mom!
In the end, being a fun mom does not have to be a daunting task. It is the small, silly moments that your children love the most. Have you ever seen how delighted a child is over scented foaming hand soap?? It doesn’t get much simpler than that!
